How do I reserve a space?
You can call or just drop by. Either way we will try to accommodate you in reserving your perfect event date!

How many hours does the rental fee reserve the space? Are there any charges for overtime? When do they begin?
You will have use of the facility for 11 hours for your event. This includes time to set-up and clean-up. For instance: A standard guideline is 4 hours for set up, 5 hours reception and 1 hour for cleanup but, the time is yours to divide however you would like. Overtime is $65 per hour and begins after the 11th hour. All events are to end at midnight, including time for clean-up. All other events allotted time will be discussed prior to the signing of the contract.

What is the rental fee and what does it include?
The rental fee varies on the season, day of the week & number of guests you will have attend your event. GREAT SPACE Chelsea prices are very competitive with other venues in the Chelsea area. Please click on the pricing tab for rental rates.

Do you have an in-house caterer or list of preferred caterers?
We now have a list of caterers and great vendors for other event needs. They are sure to do an amazing job.

Can I bring in my own food?
Yes! Feel free to host any type of party that fits your needs.

Will you help with our food and beverages?
Yes! While there will be a fee charged for handling the food and beverages portion of your event, we can handle the caterer with candlelight and linens, or order pizza. Just tell us your needs.

Are there adequate kitchen facilities?
Yes. We have a prep kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, sink and spacious countertops.

Can I bring in my own alcohol?
Security is required at all events serving alcohol. Yes, you can provide alcohol for your guests, but all alcohol must be served by a certified bartender, or one of our preferred vendors. A certified copy of the bartending license must be turned in and displayed at all times.

How do I reserve the GREAT SPACE Chelsea space?
To secure your date a 50% non-refundable deposit is required, along with a signed contract. 30 days prior to your event, the remaining balance is required.

What types of event is GREAT SPACE Chelsea available for?
Ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, meeting spaces, banquets, birthday parties, holiday parties, reunions, showers, etc.

Do you offer valet parking?
No, but we are happy to provide the name of a service.

Are candles or other open flames allowed?
Candles are welcome but they must be in a protective glass, such as a votive. Open flames are strictly prohibited.

Do you allow smoking?
There is a strict no smoking policy inside GREAT SPACE Chelsea.

If you cancel your event, your deposit WILL NOT be returned. You are welcome to choose another date if available but will be charged a fee to do so.  GREAT SPACE Chelsea is understanding when dealing with unforeseen circumstances and will use its judgement and handle each case as we see fit. All cancellations must be submitted in writing. You may not cancel over the phone or via voicemail.

Are there limitations on decorations?
Just one, nothing permanent. You are welcome to decorate to fit your needs with any decorations that can be removed, without any harm to the venue. No nails, staples, tapes or glues that leave a sticky residue. You may provide your own arches or trellis’ or we can help you with your decorating needs.

Is GREAT SPACE Chelsea wheelchair accessible?

Where do guests park?
We have a large unpaved, gravel parking lot and an a large grassy parking area. There is a paved, handicap accessible sidewalk adjacent to the entry door for drop-offs and valet parking.

Am I responsible for any of the cleaning?
All items brought in by you, your vendors, or your guests will need to be removed. All of the tables should be cleared, with only the linens remaining. The kitchenette, prep area and bar should be free of food and beverages and wiped down. Afterwards the gathered trash should be placed in the dumpster provided on the property.

Can I come in earlier and decorate if I am having my ceremony at another location without purchasing additional hours?
All hours must be consecutive. When you or your vendors arrive your 11 hours will begin, if you feel you need more time, additional hours may be purchased at $45 per hour.

Can I drop items off the day before an event?
No, unfortunately GREAT SPACE Chelsea holds meetings before events begin and we cannot be held responsible for items left in the venue. All items are to arrive when you or your vendors arrive and are to be taken off the property when your event comes to an end.

Can we cook onsite?
No, we do not allow onsite cooking. All food needs to arrive fully cooked and ready to serve. We have a prep area with electricity to keep food warm, a microwave and a refrigerator.

Can we end our event at midnight and cleanup till 1am?
No, all events are to end at midnight including clean-up.

Does GREAT SPACE Chelsea provide security?
GREAT SPACE Chelsea does not provide security. However, if security is needed for your event, we will try to point you in the right direction for security services.

Does GREAT SPACE Chelsea provide house staff before and during the event, and if so, what is the hourly rate?
GREAT SPACE Chelsea provides basic clean-up of the venue prior to the event. Trash monitoring, bathroom attendants and venue supervisor during the hours of the event. If servers are needed for your event, GREAT SPACE Chelsea will provide services for an additional fee. Otherwise, Clients are responsible for securing any additional staff during the hours of the event.

Is there internet or Wi-Fi provided on-site?
We provide basic WI-FI for you and your guests.

Are food & beverage services permitted in the venue?
It is highly recommended that clients select a caterer for your dining pleasure or a caterer from our Great Vendors list. If there will be alcohol served at your event, an alcohol catering permit must be completed, approved and submitted to Management at least 5 days prior to your event.

Do I need insurance?
GREAT SPACE Chelsea’s insurance extends coverage to its renters. The cost of this coverage is included in your rental fee. We do require that your bartender is TABC certified.

Do you allow animals?
With the exception of service animals, we do not allow animals.
